PESB recommends STPI chief Arvind Kumar for BSNL board role
The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Arvind Kumar, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), for appointment as Director (Consumer Mobility) on the Board of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 58/2026, held on July 11, 2026, following interviews of seven candidates for the Schedule ‘A’ board-level position.
According to the official minutes, Arvind Kumar was selected after the board evaluated senior executives from BSNL and other government organisations.
Key appointment
The Director (Consumer Mobility) is a board-level position responsible for overseeing BSNL’s consumer mobility business, including mobile services, customer acquisition, service quality, and business strategy.
Arvind Kumar currently heads Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), where he has played a key role in promoting India’s IT and startup ecosystem. PSU Connect
