The Tata Group has roped in Akash Banerji to lead the content and entertainment vertical of its newly launched super-app Tata Neu. The app from the Tata group seamlessly blends product commerce, service commerce and financial services into a consumer-first, future-ready, integrated experience.
Banerji, who was heading marketing of the central mobile biz development unit at Amazon, will oversee the entire content vertical, including P&L, product, content creation, and marketing.
Banerji was previously leading marketing for In Amazon Prime partnership team (called Amazon Fuse), collaborating with strategic partners across verticals (Telcos, broadband, OEMs, etc), across a range of Prime benefits (shopping, video, music) to accelerate Prime membership growth in India.
Banerji has more than eighteen years of consistent high performance in the technology, marketing, sales/distribution & P&L domains with leading consumer centric MNCs in the area of managing & growing the business exponentially.
He has worked in multiple industries across Digital video (Hotstar & Voot), e-commerce (Prime), Sports (Star Sports) & Entertainment (Star Plus) broadcast & CPG (Pepsi, Marico).
