Verizon Digital Media Services announced it has teamed up with Unreel Entertainment to enable customers to launch branded OTT video streaming apps and online destinations. Unreel currently powers OTT consumer experiences for several high profile Verizon Digital Media Services customers, including: Bonnier Corporation, Level One, The Enthusiast Network’s Adventure Sports Network, World Poker Tour, and Zazoom Media Group.
“We are committed to simplifying the OTT content delivery ecosystem for broadcasters and content providers,” says Chris Carey, chief strategy officer for Verizon Digital Media Services. “Our customers can leverage Unreel to manage multiple apps and online destinations, syndicate more than 7 million videos into content streams, and distribute their own content to millions of viewers within Unreel’s OTT network.”
The Verizon Digital Media Services platform comprises a global content delivery network, video streaming services, and compliance and monitoring services that collectively work in tandem to help broadcasters, content owners, and service providers deliver high-quality OTT content at scale, regardless of location. Additionally, Verizon Digital Media Services’ Channel Schedule API can stitch VOD content together to form a 24/7 ad-supported live channel that can be used within a customer’s branded app or online destination provided by Unreel.
“We’re proud and excited to work with Verizon Digital Media Services to offer our direct-to-consumer OTT publishing capabilities,” says Dan Goikhman, Unreel CEO. “Our robust offering gives content owners a faster path to global OTT distribution, along with a predictable revenue environment.
