DTH services provider Tata Sky has slashed its prices once again in the Indian market. The prices now start as low as Rs 1,099. Tata Sky has reduced the prices of the SD and HD Set-Top Boxes by Rs 300 and Rs 200. The SD set-top box is now priced at a starting price of Rs 1,099 while the HD set-top box has been priced at Rs 1,299. The latest prices are already on the company website.
The SD set-top box was earlier priced at Rs 1,399 and with a price cut of Rs 300, the current price is now Rs 1,099. The HD set-top was earlier priced at Rs 1,499 which was a price cut and now a subsequent price cut of Rs 200 has bought the price down to Rs 1,299. The changes were first spotted by Telecom Talk.
Back in August, Tata Sky slashed the prices of its set-top boxes in the Indian market by Rs 300. Tata Sky’s HD set-top box was available in the market for Rs 1,499 instead of Rs 1,800. Also, Tata Sky’s SD set-top box was available at Rs 1,399 in India.
Rival DTH service provider Airtel Digital TV has priced the HD set-top box for Rs 769 and the SD Set-top box for Rs 569. The charges for the set-top boxes from Tata Sky are just the standard ones and there will be additional installation and engineer charges which will be applicable whenever a new user opts for a new Tata Sky connection.
Earlier, Tata Sky had announced a new price cut for its set-top boxes. The price cut sees the prices of the set-top boxes go down by 301 and Rs 201, and as such the Tata Sky HD set-top box will now be available at Rs. 1,499 with the SD version of the box being sold by Tata Sky for a Rs 100 less which is Rs. 1,399.―Times Now
