Video Streaming Service Boom

The world of entertainment has turned into a fastest growing industry all over the globe. India too is not behind in using new innovative and higher technologies trending on internet. One of these is the video streaming service that not only allows the makers to break all barriers in showcasing their creativity but also the audience to watch at their ease, convenience, preferred mood match, and budget friendly price tags.

Now it is no longer a compulsion to sit in front of the television at a fixed time or step out of the house to watch a movie, everything now is available right on your finger tips and as desired by you.

Technically, video streaming content is sent in compressed form over the internet and displayed for the viewer in real time. With streaming video or streaming media a web user does not have to wait to download a file to play it.

Instead the media is sent in a continuous stream of data and is played as it arrives. The user needs a player, which is a special program that uncompresses and sends video data to the display and audio data to speakers. A player can be either an integral part of a browser or downloaded from the software maker’s website.

Major streaming video and streaming media technologies include Real-system G2 from Real-network, Microsoft Windows Media Technologies (including its Net Show Services and Theater Server), and VDO. Microsoft’s approach uses the standard MPEG compression algorithm for video.

The other approaches use proprietary algorithms. (The program that does the compression and decompression is called the codec.) Microsoft’s technology offers streaming audio at 96 kbps and streaming video at 8 Mbps (for the Net Show Theater Server).

However, for most web users, the streaming video will be limited to the data rates of the connections. Microsoft’s streaming media files are in advanced streaming format (ASF).

Streaming video is usually sent from prerecorded video files, but can be distributed as part of a live broadcast feed. In a live broadcast, the video signal is converted into a compressed digital signal and transmitted from a special web server that is able to do multicast, sending the same file to multiple users at the same time.

Netflix, Hotstar, and Voot, are providing platforms for deserving fresh talents to reach out to people and entertain them with some unique contents which are outstanding and worth watching with amazing video and picture quality and flexible timing and charges.

These video streaming companies get huge revenues in return of providing such likeable contents; the turnover of Netflix is USD 22.2 million and that of Amazon Prime, Voot, and Eros Now, is USD 18 million approximately which in itself is a great number in a way attracting wealthy investors and financers to take a sure shot risk and make big profits.

The way these video streaming services have contributed in letting us know the real meaning of creative and artistic video making is tremendous and has never been so impactful before; it has in fact given an altogether new level of addiction to the audiences even attracting renowned directors, actors, producers, and DOP to be a part of some interesting web series.

Video series in different languages are easily available connecting the world together and providing a better understanding of world cinema.

In short, this trend of video streaming service has taken over the television and film making business and continues to grow leaving behind
old fashioned boring serials with meaningless
story lines and simultaneously providing great exposure to individuals with a vision of producing remarkable work in different genres and styles for the viewers.
