Rathikant Basu is no more

Rathikant Basu, the Chairman & CEO of Broadcast Worldwide Limited, passed on March 17. He was 82.

Rathikant Basu was a veteran of the M&E industry, He was the Executive Chairman of Star India between 1996 and 2001, He had also held leadership positions at Doordarshan and Department of Electronics as Director General of Doordarshan and Additional Secretary (1993-1996), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and later as the secretary. Basu was also associated with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited for 5 years as Executive Director.
