Orange to miss LaLiga auction

Orange Spain has decided not to take part in the upcoming auction of TV broadcasting rights for LaLiga.

Instead, reports Reuters, quoting the company’s CEO Jean-François Fallacher, it will instead negotiate with the companies that are awarded the rights.

He added that as one of the two operators offer coverage of LaLiga in Spain it will be following the auction closely. Furthermore, he envisaged a number of possible scenarios including a split between several parties or Telefónica acquiring all the rights.
