The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has granted approval to Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) and ABP News Network to launch Sony Marathi HD and ABP News HD, respectively.

The ministry has also approved ABP News Network’s request to rename its ABP Kannada to ABP News HD. This will be the first HD news channel from the news network.

There was a list of 21 channels that requested approval for name change. The list included NDTV Network’s NDTV Good Times who got the nod to change its name to Good Times with the tagline #LiveYoungLiveIndian.

Discovery Communications India got an approval to rename its recently shut Hindi GEC Discovery Jeet channel to Jeet Prime HD.

BCCL also got approval to rename its English HD news channel Times Now HD to Times Now World.―Best Media Info
