As on 31st December, 2019 the total number of registered MSOs have increased to 1616.
MIB granted a total of 150 MSO licences in the year 2019. In 2018, it had given just one licence to Sharma Cable Network. Between September 2017 to September 2018, the ministry didn’t grant any new licence.
Out of the 11 companies that have receivedMSO licences, 6 Nos are proprietorship firms, 3 Nos are companies while 2 Nos are partnership firms.
8 Nos out of the 11 companies are from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal and Karnakata while the remaining 3 nos are from Maharashtra, Gujarat & Haryana.
Andhra Pradesh based MSO Sri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Communication & Shiva Sai Laxmi Communications have received the licences. Blue Star Cable Services & Gollaleshwar are from Karnataka.
Similarly, Array Access Digital Services and Realtouch Cable & Broadband are from West Bengal. From West Bengal, DVR Siti Digital and Feroz Digital Networks are the new licencees. M.D. Cable Network, Unify Netsol, and Shiv Cable Network are from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Haryana respectively.―SatiiTV
