IMDb TV is here for PS4, NVIDIA Shield, TiVo & LG TVs
The IMDb TV streaming app is now available for PlayStation 4, NVIDIA Shield, TiVo Stream4K, and LG Smart TVs. That’s according to new reports stemming from an announcement made by IMDb parent company Amazon.
Of course, at least so far as LG Smart TVs are concerned, not everybody is going to have access. The app is available from the LG-made application store for its televisions. But only for models from 2018 through now. Older sets may or may not get them but aren’t for now.
What is IMDb TV and why should you care if it’s on these platforms?
For the uninitiated, Amazon’s IMDb TV is a streaming application that builds on the company’s existing trailers, original videos, and other content. Summarily, it allows users to watch Amazon Studios original content such as Top Class. And even movies such as Arrival and The Lincoln Lawyer. TV programs, celebrity interviews, and more are available on the platform too. Many of which are free, without sign-in, as long as users are okay with ads.
IMDb TV was also recently launched on Roku, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and Series X, Sony- made Android televisions, and Chromecast, among other devices. And Amazon launched IMDb TV through Fire TV’s live channel as well, earlier this month — alongside other expansions. So it can also already be watched via most top-rated Fire TV and streaming devices.
Shortly, IMDb TV offers a great way to watch content without the need to pay for it. And it’s now available on more platforms than ever, for those who want to give it a shot.
Where do you get this?
As noted above, one way to gain access to IMDb TV is via LG TVs. That will be found on the TVs dedicated app store — found under a tap on the home button on the remote. Or, conversely, users can check it out on PlayStation 4 in the PlayStation Store. Or on the Play Store for NVIDIA Shield TV. TiVo Stream 4K’s app market will have the app as well. Android Headlines
