ABCPL To Launch Hindi News Channel TV9 Bharatvarsh

The news follows the launch of Republic Media Network’s Hindi news channel Republic Bharat, and comes ahead of India’s general election expected in April and May.

The editorial team of TV9Bharatvarsh includes former India TV editor Hemant Sharma, former India TV managing editor Ajit Anjum, and former editor of Zee News Vinod Kapri.

“The Hindi channel will bring back issues that really matter and use the medium of television keeping the core values of humanity and people’s interests in the forefront. Unlike other Hindi news channels, TV9 Bharatvarsh will not promote superstitions like astrology,” said ABCPL director Clifford Pereira.

ABCPL plans to open its largest news studio in India to service the new channel, equipped with AR and VR technologies and BOT News Tracker for presentation.

The company already operates six channels broadcast in different regional languages. These are broadcast under the brands TV9, News9 and TV1, in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

ABCL was started in 2003 by a group of young journalists lead by CEO Ravi Prakash.

The company’s revenue grew 19% to INR159.96 crore in the ninth month of FY2018 compared to INR134.73 crore in the corresponding period of FY2017. —Rapid TV News
