Vartalap Workshop: Media Persons Urged To Disseminate Correct Information

Press Information Bureau, Guwahati, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, in association with Nagaon district administration organized a day-long media workshop titled ‘Vartalap’. Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon, Biswajit Pegu inaugurated the workshop.

In his inaugural speech, he stressed that news must be correct and should float the correct information to people. Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, local MLA Rupak Sarma said, “Various schemes sponsored by the Union Government are being implemented across the country for the benefit of the poor. The media should carry it to them and make them aware of its subsidiaries and benefits,” he said. Veteran journalist Samudra Gupta Kasyap was present in the workshop as a resource person.

District Information and Public Relation Officer Samar Kalita, and Media and Information officer, Press Information Bureau, Guwahati, Gupajit Das were present in the workshop as media coordinators. Around 100 media persons of the district took part in the workshop. – Sentinel Assam
