Telugu Channels May Stop Broadcasting From Feb 1

As the broadcasters are offering higher prices for the TV channels, the cable operators and multiple system operators decided to stop the services from February 1. Even the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) directed the people to choose the channels of their choice and implement them at a new tariff.

“The broadcasters are charging high rates for the Telugu Channels other than any regional languages,” said Subhash Reddy, a member of Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Local Cable Operators (LCO) and Multiple System Operators (MSO) said adding that the Telugu channels are being charged at Rs 7 to Rs 10 more compared to other languages.―The Hans India
