Over USD 50 Million Allocated For National Public Broadcasting Company Of Ukraine In 2019

The state will finance the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine in the volume of USD 54 million in the current year as the state budget for 2019 says.

Thus, the financial support of the company will make USD 54 million.

It is the biggest item of expenditure provided by the State Committee for TV and Radio-Broadcasting of Ukraine (totally, USD 71.2 million).

According to the law “On public TV and Radio-broadcasting of Ukraine”, the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine should be financed in the volume of 0,2 percent from the expenses of the common fund of the state budget for the previous year. Last year such expenses made $32.814 billion.

Thus, the expenses for the National Public Broadcasting Company should make USD 65 million and the company is underfunded by USD 11 million.

As it was reported, the Ukrainian Parliament passed the law about the state budget for the next year (bill No.9000). 239 MPs voted ‘yes’ in the second reading, 240 upheld it on the whole.
