La Liga to broadcast match on TikTok for the first time

Thanks to an agreement between MEDIAPRO, LaLiga and TikTok, a small revolution will get underway in the Spanish league on Friday. The match between Real Sociedad and Betis Sevilla will be broadcast live in its entirety by GOL in a vertical format for the first time in history. This agreement was created to encourage innovation and the adaptation of football to new digital consumption formats. More than a revolution, it will be a historic turning point for the Spanish league, which will be the first in Europe to offer such a service. All this will only be possible thanks to a special device that will have a 4K Mobile Unit and more than 30 professionals at work.

The Director of Digital Strategy of the Spanish league, Alfredo Bermejo, commented on the initiative: “This is one more step for LaLiga in the search for new audiences. We want to bring football to all viewers. This agreement with TikTok confirms the work that LaLiga and MEDIAPRO have been doing in recent seasons to continue to create value and innovate in the broadcast of matches.”

After being the official sponsor of EURO 2020, TikTok continues its foray into football, this time in a different way. After also appearing on the shirts of a number of teams around the world, the Chinese social network is stepping up its activities in football. NSS Sports
