Bangladesh Information and Broadcasting Secretary sent on premature retirement
The government of Bangladesh sent Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md. Mokbul Hossain on premature retirement on Sunday. He had close to a year to go for his retirement as per normal age of retirement for government servants. He had joined as Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on 31 May, last year.
The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification on Sunday to the effect that Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md. Mokbul Hossain was sent on retirement ‘in public interest’ as per Section 45 of the Public Servants Act, 2018.
Section 45 of the Act empowers the government to compulsorily retire any government employee after the completion of twenty five years of service without assigning any reason, in public interest.
No reasons were given for the premature retirement served to the Information and Broadcasting Secretary.
