Project Management with complete control over scope, quality, time and cost for AV projects is something RST has been providing to its client along with its consulting services. We work closely with the client's team.

Unlike most of the consulting firms, RST has in-house expertise on programming with certified programming professionals on Crestron, AMX, Extron, Kramer, and Biamp. In most of the jobs, RST undertakes programming as one of the services offerings. System programming realizes the true capability of design and with professionals on-board; RST has, on many instances programmed systems along with designing and consulting. In all the projects, RST defines guidelines towards effective system programming by sharing flowcharts and algorithms with the integrators to work up on.

Quality control and audit is another service offering which benefits the customer immensely. It is said that for a successful infrastructure project, designing has only 40 percent stake while execution has a maximum stake of 60 percent. Audit ascertains quality levels of the installation and corrections that would be required to align the installation towards the design intent. With professionals certified to perform quality control and with set of testing tools such as spectrum analyzer, video test generators, and tone generators, customers are given a factual report from these devices about the exact functioning of the system.

The back bone of RST has been its 25 member strong team. The team has members who are certified by InfoComm recognising their technical competency in the field of audio visuals technology. Our certified, knowledgeable designers with extensive design experience enable us to offer world class and best suited design to our customers. Each audio, audio-visual, video, broadcast, distance learning or visual display, involves definitive performance and functional criteria. Our services include any of the following, depending upon the needs of the client. Writing performance specifications for systems, with design and installation provided by vendors is also part of our services. We provide complete design and specifications for the systems, including drawings in architect's format using computer-assisted drawings software, preparing specifications with technological justifications using word based software programs.

We provide reviews of architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications, to ensure that the design criteria's are met. Such review may occur almost at every project phase, including design and development, construction documentation and construction.

Services offered during construction include reviews of contractors' submittals with respect to the scope of work, and consultation with the client with respect to unforeseen construction conditions. Site visits during and immediately after construction is also provided and at times this activity is also listed under System Commissioning. The senior consultant is one of the select few across the globe who holds the CTS-D and CTS-I certifications from InfoComm.

While most of the consulting companies observe a linear growth curve, where the team strength symbolizes the total amount of work, RST has been able to define process which is unique to its business requirements. Being a technology company, RST has been able to adapt technology within to have a robust process and structure in place for effective projects delivery.

If people formed the backbone of the organisation its strong documentation has been the key for successfully communicating concepts to the clients and communicating the design requirements in terms of schematics or written material to the system integration firms. This combined with the technical expertise of the technical team has lead to successful execution of many projects.

Most of the projects done by RST have a common basis towards their design. There is a constant drift in customer's expectation towards having audio visual systems which can provide similar service support levels as is the case in IT. RST has been designing systems where most of the AV equipment has Ethernet connectivity which allows remote monitoring and control. In certain designs, our design included an AV network operating centre for remote control, troubleshooting and management of AV systems. Our acceptance towards Ethernet, not only as a platform for signalling and control, but a means for AV signal transport has allowed significant drop in AV budgets and has immensely contributed towards achieving operational excellence.

The convention centre at Lavasa has signal transportation over twisted pair with all the signals being transported back to the AV control room from the individual ball rooms and meeting rooms. This is one of the rarest of the projects where RFID has been used for the purpose of equipment tagging and asset management. While video signals have been transported over twisted pair (or skew free) cables, the audio transport is over IP (by making use of cobranet technology).

The concentration of our design has been more towards contributing LEED rating of the building. Though AV technology plays a very limited role towards this certification, but for projects with large multimedia installations, appropriate planning and designing immensely contributes towards LEED ratings.

The focus has not been purely on projects which are part of the business operations. RST has been actively working with clients to come with unique spaces which can help them boost their image in front of their external clients as well as for their employees. There have been more than four projects in last calendar year where RST has successfully delivered such Experience Centres or Centre of Excellence. RST has also been involved in very first electricity museum which was inaugurated at the Science City in Ahmedabad, India.
