Heritage content is ageing and is on the verge of dreadful conditions. There is an overall global concern to preserve the content in digital media after restoration of this ageing valuable content. Digital technology in the field of media is developing in leaps and bounds through strength of satellite communication and broadband technology. The demand for digital content has grown in multi-fold asking the deliveries on multiple media platforms with allied technological solutions and integrated digital asset management technology. The content thus now is made available on satellite channels via broadcasting, IPTV, mobile, high definition and various other platforms including broadband on internet and intranet. According to United Nation's study, about 2.5 billion hours of content is awaiting for digital transformation. Intellectual property does not make money on it's own, it needs suitable digital transition to pave way into the spectrum of multi-dimensional digital media asset. However, the basic need is to digitally acquire all available content despite its original format be it in a film or video. It is said that if you own rich content it will make you richer for future generations. To make content marketable, accessible in quantity and quality one needs to not only preserve it but invest in digitally restoring it to give it a new lease of life. |
