BES EXPO received overwhelming participation of manufacturers, dealers, distributors, suppliers of products, equipment, systems and services related to terrestrial and satellite broadcasting for Radio, TV, studio and post-production. Equipment and technology which was displayed in the expo included, among others, cable, video, audio, multimedia, broadband, networking, automation, video streaming, graphics and animation, production and post production, and archiving. Prasar Bharati put up a huge stall in which technical innovations from All India radio and Doordarshan were exhibited. Reviews SONY ‘HD for live' was our theme at the BES'2010 Expo and we have are extremely happy at the good feedback we received at the event. After a period of recession in 2009, when all players in the market were affected, 2010, we believe will be a year of high growth for the broadcast industry. This will be especially so for migration to HD in sports, music, reality shows and other live events. As such, Sony is focused on the migration from analog to digital, and from digital to HD, and HD to 3D. We have products for each step of this value chain and we are confident that Sony will play its part in the development of the broadcast industry in India. In our stalls at BES'2010, XDCAM HD422 series products, and workflow products, were stars of the show as the formats of the future. PDW-700P, XDCAMHD422 Camcorder with 2/3-inch CCD Camcorder offers quality HD recording at a data rate of up to 50 Mbps using an MPEG HD422 and provides multi-format recording flexibility, including 1080i and 720P. In addition, PDW-700P supports the existing XDCAM SD formats, MPEG IMX and DVCAM for recording, and play, from the XDCAM Disc. XDCAM disc is blue-violet ray based technology which has a capacity of 23/50GB for one disc at a very affordable price - which could be adapted not only for ENG/EFP format, but also as a quick reference archiving media in the workflow. SENNHEISER India will be host to a number of gala sporting events this year starting with the third edition of IPL, followed by the Hockey World Cup and then the much awaited Commonwealth Games which would require the world class technology to support these mega events. Sennheiser is bound to play a major role in bringing Indian broadcasters at par with their counterparts anywhere else in the world. The new 2000 series will offer presenters, broadcasters, musicians, reporting teams and sound rental companies outstanding sound quality with unmatched technical precision. Sennheiser's high quality professional sound equipment is bound to be the first choice of broadcasters during the big sporting events are scheduled in India in 2010. With HDTV production the focus of broadcasters ,especially for sports coverage, stereo microphone becomes an obvious choice. WOHLER BES 2010 proved to be an excellent venue with an ideal format for bringing together all aspects of the Indian broadcast field. The evenly mixed group of government, private broadcasters, consultants, system integrators, local distributors and overseas principles provided a solid basis for conducting all elements of business under one roof. Wohler found the show to have the correct pace and flow of stand attendees, with an extremely knowledgeable customer base that, in general, were goal-oriented with specific requests and an eagerness to share concepts and ideas. The attendees seemed to be interested in some of the new offerings from Wohler due to the extensive benefits and value provided to the customer. AMP1-16 series from Wohler received a lot of appreciation from customers along with RMT/RM video monitors which possess a wide array of benefits. The monitors are extremely popular for those customers involved in mobile trucks, news, transmission control rooms, duplication and post-production facilities.
